Do people even watch the oscars anymore?

The oscars last year were criticized for being too white. So this year they had some more black actors win awards. These people actors running on stage crying, this is equality this is what we fight for.

In reality, they only won the award for being black not for their acting. Wouldn't that dumb down the meaning of the award?

I wonder if this has any relation to the 2016 oscar boycott for too many white people who won.

Affirmative Action killed this year.

Normal people don't waste their time watching liberal hollywood circlejerks, so yes.

I heard viewership wasn't great this year.
It dropped from last year, but was still 32.9 million US viewers which is nothing to be sniffed at.

So yeah, tens of millions of people still watch the Oscars live, and probably lots more watch it on catch up.

Mad Max: Fury Road won 6 awards. That's the best and only time I'll support the Oscars for anything.

people don't watch the oscars anymore because the academy already know who's gonna win
