Author Topic: Thousands of ICE detainees claim they were forced into slave labor  (Read 4908 times)

>Immigrate to America illegally
>Is legal-savvy enough to effectively move income over borders consistently without being caught
>This happens enough to be a problem with illegal immigrants
>Because of this, slave labor of detained immigrants is a viable and economical option

I DO, money go to mexico, money no go to US, simple.
illegal immigrants still have to live here and buy things so yes, they are stimulating the economy. you should really take an introductory macro course
I'll have you know that these illegal aliens don't eat the human food, but rather they survive off the wilderness itself, so therefore the US economy benefits in now way, notta, nothing.

Yeah, there is absolutely no way that immigrants living here illegally spend money for groceries, housing and utilities. They send all of it back to Mexico. Every single immigrant that immigrated here illegally does this. They have a tutorial on the internet, but we can't read it because it's in Spanish...

You don't claim money, it doesn't get taxed, money is not tracked, can go anywhere (say mexico) and therefore doesn't get put into the US economy but rather the Mexican economy.
what kind of loving thought process

I DO, money go to mexico, money no go to US, simple.

You're completely loving handicapped my dude

ignoring Matt, this is not slavery, this is indentured servitude, which is different in several ways in that those under contract would be freed after a given period of time and they would be housed, fed, and paid, all of which is what's happening here
so to call it slavery is ignorant if not biased against the agency

as for private prisons, yes I'm against them, the recidivism rates alone are enough to turn me off to the idea

but having prisoners work? aren't you prison reformers talking about giving these people the skills to do well in society? so they can't work for their crimes but they can get an education? seems kind of hypocritical to me, besides it'd be better that they be worked to their limits rather than them beat the stuff out of each other and assforget the weaker ones some more

the thing is indentured servitude is consented to. forced labor is not.

Indenturees usually enter into an indenture for a specific payment or other benefit or to meet a legal obligation, such as debt bondage.

being detained for committing a crime seems to fit those standards
