You're one of those people who believes they're "above the big guy", who think that all business is exploitive and evil, who can't understand that real people work at companies and at the end of the day, they have to get fed too.
$400 every 3 years for the newest thing isn't bad at all. Gaming hardware isn't built to last like a car or house, and you can see the same parity in Gaming PCs that quickly fall into "Minimum Specs" territory on the newest titles. Hell, I've seen people blow throw $600 phones every 6 months. If you can't afford the price of entry, that's your own problem. My Switch is many, MANY leagues better than the 3DS, the Vita, the DS or the PSP, all of which I've owned and disposed of, and it has a place along my shelf with my Xbox One S, my PS4 Pro and my outdated Playstations.
