My school blocks things all the time. Steam, Discord (not the forums yet), Facebook, twitter, Snapchat, vpn, certain online mobile games and more.

Blockland Forums was blocked in my middle school for the reason "Drugs and alcohol" and "Games" if I remember correctly

But it wasn't blocked in my high school

when I was still playing roblox a lot, in 6th grade I used to play it at school when the teachers let me and then the county randomly blocked it from school computers.

My school blocked it and our block "ratings" says this is categorized as "forums", no stuff. It's literally in the title.

This reminds me of something that happened whilst I was in primary school.
One kid decided to bring in Minecraft in a USB and put it into the Junior School storage/network (we can do that, you can even delete whole files like I accidentally did once).
So students started playing it, until the teachers claimed it would give the school a huge virus and removed it (which most would know wouldn't get rid of the virus if it did have one).
Everyone knew it didn't, it was just the teachers being handicaps.
