i hate with every fiber of my being the huge ballistic rifles in this game. it worked (kinda worked) in EU/EW because the soldiers all had cartoon proportions so a huge gun didnt look out of place. that gun is the size of a person's torso. this is ridiculous.

UPDATE 5: CLOSER EVERY DAY
Day 48 of the Resistance

Last update I had to pass up a Liberation mission because we couldn't infiltrate in time to get in with stealth. We have another one coming up next update. Will we enter?

Badspot, Ephialtes, and KidAlex90 entered an ADVENT City Center to destroy a prized monument.
Ambushed by by countless soldiers, they won a surprise victory by taking down all 18 of them. They were all critically injured.
[Ephi spammed smoke / flashbang grenades while Badspot and KidAlex shot everyone in an alleyway.]



[TEAM SHADOW], consisting of JamesH, Stick Man, Auzman666, and DestroyerOfBlocks infiltrated ADVENT-Cairo and rescued an XCOM Scientist.
They killed 10 ADVENT Soldiers, never even allowing them to fire a single shot through advanced stealth.

SeventhSandwich and Ephialtes resuced 3 Advent Defectors, never firing a single shot in a high-paced stealth operation.

its advent troopers with some new advent units mixed in. he's playing with long war 2.

BTW sorry for the lack of updates today. power went out for my town.

one thing I can saw I'm a little disappointed with in Long War is the lack of aliens. So far I've literally only seen sectoids and troopers. I guess the others come in later but I'm like 20 hours in...

it's like 90% troopers but long war 2 randomizes them really interestingly. different colors and abilities. if you fail infiltration you can get 50+ soldiers on one map. it's why I always go stealth and try not to fight at all if I can. long war 2 is designed to make it more of a struggle, so you feel like a resistance group. standard xcom you're matched about 50-50.

also, I'm going in for the first liberation mission. We got one earlier but I had to opt out cause resistance was heavy and I can't even handle light.

UPDATE 6: THE INJURED AND THE DEAD
Day 62 of the Resistance

SeventhSandwich and GabeNuwell moved in to rescue a critical XCOM operative to help liberate Syria. They succeeded, but at a high price.
GabeNuwell was shot and killed by an ADVENT Drone, being left to bleed out while Seven retreated to the Skyranger.



[TEAM SHADOW], consisting of JamesH, Stick Man, Auzman666, and DestroyerOfBlocks went on a mission to steal supplies from an ADVENT-Train wreck.
They held off against 25 aliens with zero casualties in what might have been our most successful operation yet.



[TEAM FERAL], consisting of Badspot, KidAlex90, Poliwhirl and DreamsOfChese rescued yet another Advent Scientist, never taking damage in a highly successful operation.

XCOM now has 8 scientists, but almost no resources due to a lack of resistant comms. We'll get a lot of nice tech if we can find some supplies.
