Author Topic: No mans sky update 2: Crashing boogaloo  (Read 4428 times)

I'm waiting for them to let me have more fun in my spaceship. Once you've got down an efficient and quick way of docking in Elite: Dangerous, having this game do it all for me is a huge let-down. I know there's a mod that lets you fly lower to the ground on planets, but all the landing and stuff you've done a million times in ED is still done for you. If I can freeze to death on any planet, I'd like to be able to crash into the side of a mountain as well.

I think you people are too busy on the band wagon to act like this game isn't doing better.

It is doing better. There's no doubt about that. And they're definitely going in the right direction.

But doing better than stuff can still be somewhat stuff. I'm waiting for maybe 1 more update.

the nomad is probably my favorite vehicle out of any other game ever

I'd try out NMS but god the view point and fov is damn terrible. It's like you're leaning forward 2 feet and zoomed in, it's disorientating

yeah the default FOV cap is super low but if you want you can increase it by modifying the settings file

Yeah you can fix the fov that way, but then due to the view-point being so far forward, it still looks very weird and unnatural. Plus due to the game being specifically made to use a fov of like 50 / 60, editing the files just "zooms it out" which doesn't fix it entirely, but does help

do you mean like, the viewmodel FOV?

do you mean like, the viewmodel FOV?
yeah

it's like, instead of the camera being where the head is supposed to be, it's 2 feet forward and zoomed in

it's really damn weird

viewmodel scales with camera FOV

default (100):

200:

>build base
>need stuff
>go to other planet
>planet is nice
>forget it, settle there
>lost half of my stuff
>meh
>build stuff again
>need more stuff
>go to other planet
>planet is even better
>forget it, settle there
The vicious cycle

There needs to be a method of owning more than one base, kinda like how you can teleport to different stations, you should be able to teleport to multiple bases

Fixed a bug that caused vehicle weapons and mining lasers not to drain charge

forget that was a bug?
