playstation 3
never held a ps4 or xbone controller. none of my friends have one, we're all PC gamers since way before the release of those consoles.
the ps3 was probably my most used console
ps4 controller is pretty similar to a ps3 controller, but a bit more comfortable.

I've enjoyed the DualShock system since I've started gaming, cuz my brother had a playstation when I grew up. Having perfect symmetry with my thumbs help with a lot of the games I play. Twin stick shooters are especially good with the PS controllers.

ps3 rockcandy dualshock
steam if I had it
HTC if I had it

i was about to put that on the list but i had to second guess myself, i didn't know if it was still relevant or not

Ive switched between ps4/xbone and I honestly can not decide, I find them both equally comfortable.

ps4 is my favorite. xbone isnt bad either, but ive always used playstation so i go with ps4. ps3 controllers were aight, but a little small. xbox 360 controllers were absolute garbage imo

Xbox one for sure. I do want to buy a steam controller sometime, though.

Don't.
It tries to both be 'good like a controller' and 'good like a kb/m replacement' and it's really neither of those.

1.Switch Pro Controller (not including Wii U )
2.Xbox One
3.PS4
4.Xbox 360
5.Steam
6.PS3

Tbh it really is a damn good controller for replacing a keyboard and mouse, due it's sheer control customization and personalization.

Imo you should only get the Steam controller if you're fine with having to map the controls to it and configuring / tinkering and such. Also if you have games that don't have controller support, the Steam controller can have it's inputs mapped to keyboard / mouse inputs

I mainly play older games / casual games which is perfect for the controller. Anything more and the controller just isn't good for it. The controller is made for casual / calm games or racing games (using the gyro as a steering wheel is really damn fun and 50x better than brown townog stick)

Oh and if needed the controller can also emulate Xbox 360 inputs as well

PS4 is pretty nice, I use InputMapper and it allows me to set up the touch pad to control the cursor.

You can also set up the light to tell you when the battery is low, and even set up the rumble which I find lacking in a lot of dualshock applications.

as someone who owns a ps4: xbone controller's better, played w/ it at a friend's house

playstation controllers always seem too small for my gargantuan mutant hands
