so I like the Nintendo 64 controller.

then replace the stick with a gamecube one so its not wobbly and actually works

The grip looks better but still very awkward. I haven't actually used either myself though.
It's actually very comfortable, trust me.

currently the XBOne and PS4 controllers are tied for me because i like them both really equally, though i mean the playstation controller design hasn't changed much since the og dualshock so

Steam controller my dudes.

Never modded anything like that.

steam pad is best but some types of games i need a real d-pad.

the old Xbox 360 controller fits perfectly in my hands and i've grown to understand its response times and limitations. To me its the ultimate controller.

playstation controllers suck. they're awkwardly shaped and way too lightweight, plus the tactile feedback is just so subpar

excuse me but how dare you have a different opinion especially one you are trying to enforce onto us???

But on a serious note the playstation controllers aren't that differently shaped to Xbox ones, apart from the left stick which I think is a more suitable place because I mean who wants one thumb to stretch out longer than the other one?

Honestly the Xbox One controllers feels really nice, I don't like the Xbox One but I love the controller, and the PS4 controller is neat as well but the bumper and trigger buttons are better on the Xbox One controller to be honest.

Xbox controller sticks on the 360 ones in particular do i rarely have slipping problems. Playstation controllers always make me feel like my thumb will slide off in a crucial moment.

I've always preferred the playstation-style layout, something about the symmetry of it pleases me more while still retaining a good level of comfort. For straight controllers, the Dualshock 4v2 is my weapon of choice, fixes a lot of the issues with the original Dualshock 4, along with adding some extra grip to the brown townog sticks (might post a comparison photo later). The Xbone controller is almost comfy but something about the sharper edges in the area between the handles ruins the comfort for me, that, and the slimmer triggers on the DS4 feel more trigger-like rather than the chunkier, fatter triggers of the Xbone's controller.

This dude knows where it's at. Not only allows you to do mouse aiming stuff with the brown townog sticks, touchpad, and the gyro/accelerometer, but on a Dualshock 4 you can mess with the light bar and have it do funky strobing patterns and rainbows.

The Xbox One controller is pretty good. For some reason I don't like the Steam controller.
