Networks have access to your account, and can change anything they'd like. They can favorite and like videos under your account, too.
This was shown by OneyNG when Machinima wanted him to join in. I don't think anybody paid attention, but he exposed that they could manipulate your account to their own profit. (People'd see you favoriting certain content and they'd go watch that, too.)

Or it might've been a joke, but yes, they have a degree of power over your content.

There are tons of hacker groups out there that use their skills to help people, arguably much more than there are these "black hat" groups. They're called computer security specialists.
