Author Topic: Bullstuff interview questions keep me from getting offered jobs.  (Read 5745 times)

How are you going into this so blind?  Like seriously there are thousands of solid guides all over the internet.  Use the resources available to you.  Can speak from experience that these job interviews are super easy if you prepare.  I interviewed at 8 jobs and was offered employment at 6 of them.

You are focusing on your negatives, and like, only your negatives from these questions.  Even if the question is negative-oriented, you can answer with omission in mind.

It's really not the questions; it's you.

Honestly this makes me feel like stuff. All I can tell them is what I'm good at and what I'm not good at. I can't just come up with some complex, convincing monolog with it.

I do look up these guides and they all say the same thing you guys are saying. Show that I'd be a value.

Then prepare to be jobless. If you honestly believe you can't do it then don't even try. There are thousands of other people who are willing to try to get that job, and in that case they deserve it more than you.

Honestly this makes me feel like stuff. All I can tell them is what I'm good at and what I'm not good at. I can't just come up with some complex, convincing monolog with it.

So you're admitting the topic title is bullstuff

I can't just come up with some complex, convincing monolog with it.
Yes you can, it's called effort.

Look when push comes to shove, you need money.  You gonna fight for that goal or immerse yourself in self-pity and accept what is entirely preventable?

"What are your weaknesses?"
"I'm generally socially reclusive, but I believe that this job will be a big step out of my comfort zone and help me develop both as a person and as an employee."
"Do you have any previous job experience?"
"I'm hoping to join the workforce for the first time with this job and I believe it will be a valuable experience."
"Why should I hire you?"
"I believe I have the integrity and responsibility that makes me the ideal employee for your business."

Everybody goes through this, it's hardly bullstuff. If the employer thinks you're an idiot and you can't think for yourself, you shouldn't be getting the job in the first place.

"I'm generally socially reclusive, but I believe that this job will be a big step out of my comfort zone and help me develop both as a person and as an employee."

I can't come up with something on the spot like that especially when I'm anxious

then copy what somebody else said and fit it to yourself. you have to get over it or you won't be hired.

say something blunt like "Im moving away from retail stuff, and want to get unskilled/semi skilled labor path / on my resume" whatever.

it sounds like you want a real job, and consider this place a legit place to be working. and that is flattering in its own way to someone looking for new hires.

its ok to be specific and selfish sounding, its more sincere than all that hypothetical answered stuff.

I can't come up with something on the spot like that especially when I'm anxious
then don't. have it prepared. hell, he just gave you the answers.

Yeah it probably is me, but the questions don't help either

it's also worth noting that you shouldn't be too modest when answering the questions. you want to make yourself look good
