No one can connect to my server anymore

Author Topic: No one can connect to my server anymore  (Read 1561 times)

For some reason I have been hosting just fine for the past year with no hosting issues whatsoever, but now all of a sudden no one can join my server. It reads as dead ping for everyone.

How can I fix this? And no, nothing has changed. Same ISP, same wifi, same router, same everything. I am using UPnP too.

Unplug your router, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in. This fixes almost all UPnP issues.

I also recently came across the same issue where my servers ping was dead.
Gotta find a good time to reset the router when three people use it for work.

It didn't fix it. People still can't connect

I am going to try unplugging the modem to my house and plug it back in a few minutes later. See you all on the other side.

Please post a console log showing you attempting to start a server. That will show us any UPnP problems.

I shut down the matchmaker and forgot to restart it.  Should be working now.

Wait, the matchmaker?
What's that, and why would it stop some people from hosting?

and how long as it been down?

If I remember correctly it attempts to narrow down possible IPs and arranges them so you can connect properly.

Kind of like those lobbies in games like Call of Duty. They have matchmakers and make sure everyone is able to connect with each other and the server.

Well, my hosting issues been resolved.
So thats good
