Author Topic: Over minimum shaders does not work (mac)  (Read 1325 times)

i've had this problem ever since i had blockland, and i have all the correct shader settings, just when i go over minimum it doesnt work and its just screwed up
i checked the game files for shaders, and there's only minimum in there
please help

do you have hardware that supports it?

1. get windows
2. get windows
3. get windows
4. profit

Your Mac probably does not have the hardware to support shaders (I'm assuming you have an intel hd graphics card?). I would recommend getting a Windows computer with an Nvidia or AMD graphics card.

What? this is not a drama. Please don't just quote me for the sake of quoting me. This is the second time you've done this.

may i ask for your mac's specs? i have experienced this problem many times, and it isnt due to a intel gpu

its probably due to how mac os x handles the drivers... even with a GeForce 9400M G, the shaders above minimum are just corrupted or very weirdly placed

I have a Macbook Pro from 2009, and while it flatly refuses to run shaders on Mac, they run just fine on the Windows partition. You may just need to look into using Windows with your current hardware instead. I did this so I could play Blockland and do all of my Mac things on the same device.

If I'm remembering correctly, Mac should come with Bootcamp, which is a tool you can use to partition some of your disk space to run an entirely different OS on it. However, you will need a licensed copy of Windows (and a thumb drive or a CD or two if you want to install all the support drivers; by the way, if you don't do this, your installed copy of Windows will still be accessible, but will simply not recognize how to properly interact with a bunch of your Mac's internal hardware or how to communicate with the external ports - for instance, despite having a video card, Windows has no way of knowing this and even installing your card's appropriate drivers will not work. ALWAYS ACCEPT THE SUPPORT DRIVERS.)

This is exactly it.
