if im white can i sign up for black people meet?
if your black can you sign up for where white people meet?

Not really. If people did attack, they'd probably stop standing down, since the workers are actually doing their job and are probably protected under some state law that says assaulting them is a federal crime.

Snipers not shooting people because no one is doing anything is not standing down lmao
Standing down would be if the workers were being attacked and the snipers were told not to do anything

That's what happened at Berkeley

Everybody needs a participation trophy
what is wrong with you

Vandalism is never okay. If you want a monument taken down, you do it the proper way and get involved with whoever's in charge of the monuments.

That being said, I suppose it would depend on whether the statues were glorifying the confederates (Not exactly smart), or just depicting moments in history without any bias (Important to keep).

oh that's actually forgeted up. i didn't follow the berkeley incident much, but that sounds awful.

do protesters have the same rights and protections as workers for private construction companies or employees of the city?

In theory, they should.

i asked first

The mayor of berkely told police to stand down during the riots and was in favor of the violence.

How does attacking a historical monument end racism, again?

It doesn't

i prefer the approach of handing the sYstEM a pepsi

Right. They're also standing down. If they weren't they'd be firing their snipers.

That's not standing down, there is nothing to "stand down"

The word you are looking for is "standby"

What would they be firing their snipers at? Thin air?

Do you know any military terms?

It doesn't
In fact, by removing these parts of history, they are very well into the first couple of steps into repeating, not saying that's
out of character considering the intentions behind these actions, but keep an eye out.

This looks like when all the monuments honouring communist figureheads (Lenin, etc.) were taken down in Eastern Europe en masse. Except people generally agreed on removing those monuments. Some of these monuments were later moved to parks dedicated to the memory of those who suffered and perished under the communist dicatorships, while the less significant ones were destroyed.

The situation seems different in a sense, that these monuments seem to have been erected with more popular support than the ones in Eastern Europe.
