Seconding this, KF1 has a very steep learning curve.

So basically Renousim is saying the games aren't artificially difficult. Instead, his counter argument is that the games are easy. Thus they're still not actually challenging.

Now, I've barely played Last Raven, but I can safely say 4 and For Answer are really just difficult and not artificially so. The only way you die as fast as you would in a Souls game is if you're using the lightest AC possible, and also using the stufftiest thrusters possible. Takes a lot of practice getting the controls down and also re-configuring your mech to be better in certain situations. The only problem I had with the whole one mission I played of Last Raven was that I was trying to play it on the PSP. Playing an Armored Core game with less buttons is not fun. The series already has you using a few button combinations, adding more just to do basic stuff was painful.

I hope the speculations about them making a new one are true, and that it's going to play more like For Answer. 5 and Verdict Day were pretty disappointing.
