Something like local chat, except you can only see chat by people in the zone/room it is set to.
I was thinking of when you open a door to a room or press button, you join that group chat.

There is already an RP chat mod that only shows the chat from players in a certain vecinity around you. It also has a global chat and some other stuff too.

sounds like the first mod i attempted to author myself, but ended up getting written by alphadin. i can give this a shot.
