you see what we did there? we, uh... used skepticism to debunk your argument

this is pretty much the best you can get for 400 dollars.

Intel i3 7100, 6gb of ram, 1tb hard drive, 1366x768

It's from Dell so you know it is actually quality, and it has a numpad too.
I literally JUST bought an inspiron 5567 last week for my girlfriend and I'm incredibly disappointed with it. It was so chockers full of bloatware that booting took 5 minutes out of the box (even after the 3rd and 4th reboot).

I ended up having to reinstall windows completely because it was still horribly slow even after I manually removed all the bloatware.

Depending on the place you get it, the bloatware varies. Also if it's an HDD not an SSD, no duh it'll take a while to boot lmao

Also this is a sub 400 dollar laptop, which aren't known for blazing speed and booting up in seconds like you're expecting.

if the hard drive isn't a total piece of trash it'll boot in less then a minute
if it is trash that can't do 4kb reading better then a sd card it'll be about 2-3 minutes

not anywhere near 5 minutes.
this is on mediocre hardware too, i have a desktop decked out in a solid amd athlon x2 first generation, on a 320 GB HDD with 4gb of ram and topped off with the bios being incompatible with fast boot mode on windows 10.
it still boots in about a minute. this is nowhere near modern hardware.

i used to have this program i found for an hp i had that detected bloatware and removed it. can't remember what it was called though.

OP, to be honest, I wouldn't invest too heavily into making sure the laptop can game, because believe it or not once you hit college your life's gonna kick into overdrive. last year i bought a laptop that could handle gaming and the only times i've gamed on it have been bad times (i.e. finals week, 8 hours before a string of 3 exams) or while i'm at home and too lazy to boot up desktop. especially if you have a ps4 that you can use to play aaa games, don't give yourself the temptation of staying up all night / staying at your dorm/wherever you'll be instead of going out and doing stuff with people you meet.

idk, just my 2 cents i guess

i'm not a social person. i would rather stay home and play games than hanging out at bars/whatever. that's why i want the laptop for gaming too-- it's portable.
