are you complaining about news threads while making a news thread that's not even a news thread just to piss yourself off

i do wonder what happened to cause this. i don't think it's a phenomenon contained just to these forums, it seems like politics has worked its way into a lot of places where it didn't used to be relevant. i thought maybe i was just imagining this, but i took a little while to look back a good ways in OT and i'm really not, the kind of heated politics we have here now really is something that i think is very recent. there's always been some politics here and there, but never on this scale. it'll probably subside eventually, but it sucks that it's gotten this way man, and i don't think this is just nostalgia talkin when i say that i feel like the climate here was legitimately much more nice and inviting in the past

I put [NEWS] On the title as a joke.

I put [NEWS] On the title as a joke.

so does everybody else

yes i get it but i'm also getting tired of seeing it. i'd really prefer it if it was used for actual news

can we just make a list of the threads of people tired about [NEWS]

it's the new "BL is dead/dying"

yea i could've sworn this place was a lot less political in general
and i'm just not much of a fan of talking or debating about that sorta stuff so seeing more and more of it is just kinda alienating in a way
but i do think it's dying down at least a bit now though or i'm just missing where it's being mentioned

this lol

like there's nothing wrong with news topics tagged with "[NEWS]" as long as they actually have news (your thread does not) and provide sources

Friendly reminder most of you got real pissed when people including me dared to get upset at joke threads in offtopic last year, and yet now many of you are equally pissed because of the news threads in offtopic.

I've come to learn there's types of threads that we all don't like that will exist on some boards, and there's no use in complaining about them because they aren't going away.

I generally don't like joke threads so I don't post in them much, if ever, and sometimes I do now join in on the joke. Perhaps some of you should consider handling news threads in the same way: if you don't like them, just avoid them.
