I am reading all three books. The old testament, the new testament and the Qu'ran. Interestingly if you are Christian, you may find in the old testament that it commands us to kill gay people as it is going against one of the commandments in the second temple. It also says in the old testament that only men can divorce their wives, meaning if a wife wants a divorce and the man doesn't want one then they have to stay together. If these rules were kept today there would be outrage. This is the same as the Qu'ran and these laws are not kept, this is known is reform Judasim, reform Christianity and reform Islam. The modernized version.

Islam hasn't gone through a single reformation in 1,400 because it's much more than a religion. It's an entire social structure, which shines through when you look at places like Palestine or Iran. They're loving backwards as stuff. Anything bad you can point to in the Bible is probably being acted out right now by muslims. Killing gays? Covered. No rights for women? You got. Throw in a couple autocracies and you've got the islamic world in a nutshell.

I feel like it's unfair to pretend like Western religion is just something 'in the home' and that Islam has been dominating Muslim society. Majority religions always dominate their respective society. The idea of secular government is a very new thing.

I don't know what the forget "blood sacrifices" are, but if you truly understood the New Testament, you'd realize all the really spooky stuff God commanded people to do in the Old Testament was voided by Jesus, exempting the Ten Commandments, of course

my point is that islam isn't the issue--it's the middle east and its harsh scenario that is

Christians don't see the bible as being literal nor infallible which is the important distinction. The bible is open to interpretation due to the imperfect nature of man in recording the Word of God. Muslims believe the Quran is directly from God and therefore cannot be wrong.
