should probably use some javascript on the page to prevent scrolling with arrow keys

also super mario land has the worst star music

i didn't think it was bad, it was just unfitting really.

thats why its bad, its like putting happy upbeat music in a horror game

this, unless your screen is high enough res to render the whole page, it doesn't work well with arrow keys.

Are the fire balls suppose to ping off into space?

Yeah, have you never played Super Mario Land?
Those aren't Fireballs.

gtx 1070 on chrome 59.0.3071.86, working good

those aren't fireballs
those are SUPERBALLS

Runs flawlessly, it needs to prevent the arrow keys scrolling the page though.

I also keep reading this as "Mario Land Fun Bowser Port"

I have addressed the arrow key issues, and also you can now type in the comment box.  I also removed some debug hooks and the music seems to be loading better, but that might be from caching.

does anybody else slow down considerably when moving to full screen in Chrome?

also can confirm on firefox

the one song that seems most stubborn to start is the world 1-1, 1-2 and 1-3 main theme, with the star song close behind

Does it run better if you go into options->graphics and turn "classic colors" on?

I changed a thing, try it again.  Make sure it says r147 in the about menu (you might have to manually reload the page).  Also to clarify, we're talking about a ~1 second delay, right?

A german guy played the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTGO68PL17U
Although he managed to download the old version...

controls pretty delayed and goofy
