Author Topic: Can the pope declare a crusade?  (Read 2382 times)

This is a bit of a stupid question but sometimes I see people saying "The pope needs to declare another crusade" can the pope actually do it in this day and age?

He can, but the Pope isn't the monarchy mafia anymore so nobody would listen on the government level in all likelihood. A few christian extremists would probably try to get to the middle east, but I doubt they'd make any kind of difference.

where else do we get our deus vult

Yes but theres no guarantee that anyone would take is seriously

if he did, no one would listen and he'd lose that last bit of respect and influence he has

game theory: matpat gave the pope undertale in return for a crusade on israel

Not in the modern age, no.

I would like to see a crusade against Mat "the cancer of youtube" pat

the pope has no manpower or backing to declare a crusade plus virtually everyone would oppose it.

de facto no

de jure it's complicated

anyone can declare whatever the forget they want brah

chainmail is high cost, high maintenance, mediocre performance and great helms were only great if your skull is directly welded to your ribcage because your neck won't survive a blow

A war for people with no necks!
