Author Topic: Suggest me good sub 40 dollar headphones  (Read 1977 times)

well idk if you have ears the size of dumbo the forgetn elephant k?
My ears are small, and those earcups are still too small and would press on my ear rather than rest around it. When I have headphones that rest on ear instead of over ear, it causes my ear to swell up due to the constant pressure

Razer Electra

Only thing is their scheme is black and a bright green, and they look pretty large.

Can't find anywhere to buy these. They aren't on the Razer website, and on Newegg they're near 100 dollars, they're not on Amazon either.

This is a little over your budget but they are a really good and very reliable set of headphones. I've been using them for several years and they are great. Excellent sound and comfortable to wear.

- Mic is optional but I'd like one, if there is one I'd like the quality to be use-able but not total garbage

just get a condenser microphone if you care about mic quality more

i can't really suggest you any headphones that are exactly $40 other than just suggesting plantonics 818 which is twice the price you're saying, i kinda used headphones that are more than $40 but i think you should look into plantonics

don't try corsair or razer brands btw, i've had stuffty experience with corsair's drivers and razer synapse software is just godawful.

I'd get those but they look more on-ear than over ear. Unless they aren't then idk they look good tho

what does that even mean. are you meaning you're looking for headphones that look like hearing aids?

what no lmfao

on ear headphones = the ear cups are tiny and press on your ears

over ear headphones = the ear cups are huge and don't touch your ears at all, only the space around your ear, aka pressing on your head

I can't use the on ear headphones due to those causing my ears to swell, over ear headphones don't cause it at all

theyre kind of in between. theyre quite comfortable tho.

in my experience over-ear headphones are extremely uncomfortable as the edges inside rub against the skin on my ear and make it raw, plus they press super hard on the ear.

This is me except only with on-ear

I'll see if I can wear some in a walmart or somewhere that carries them to see if they'll work or not

my ~$40 pair lasted me maybe a year or two then fell apart
if you want something that can take a beating and isn't horrible quality get HyperX, I forget what model I have but they're made of aluminum and stuff with a braided cord and I have so far failed to destroy them
mine were $60 IIRC but you can get cheaper

I'm really hard on headphones apparently, not intentionally but still I am
i suppose i was just pretty lucky then, ill keep that in mind though

G430's are great. they have good bass that doesn't drown out or muddle up the mids and highs, and they have surround sound.

Yeah after looking around I may actually go for this, it's not final until I buy something though

Whatever you do, do NOT buy a turtle beach. In my experience they're not too good and are very unreliable.

Noted already, plus the majority of them are only compatible with Xbox anyway so they wouldn't be of much use on PC, and if they do work you wouldn't be able to use the mic without a splitter.
