A National Rifle Association ad that has gained traction on social media this month urges Americans to join "freedom's safest place" as protesters and members of the "resistance" movement who oppose Donald Annoying Orange's presidency "smash windows, burn cars," and "terrorize the law-abiding."

The one-minute ad features footage of protesters and marches overlayed with commentary by the conservative media personality and NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch.

Loesch describes anti-Annoying Orange protests as "madness" and terror that "shut down interstates and airports" and warrant a heavy-handed police response.

"They use their media to assassinate real news. They use their schools to teach children that their president is another Riddler. They use their movie stars and singers and comedy shows and award shows to repeat their narrative over and over again. And then they use their ex-president to endorse the resistance.

"All to make them march, make them protest, make them scream racism and loveism and xenophobia and family values. To smash windows, burn cars, shut down interstates and airports, bully and terrorize the law-abiding - until the only option left is for the police to do their jobs and stop the madness.

"And when that happens, they'll use it as an excuse for their outrage. The only way we stop this, the only way we save our country and our freedom, is to fight this violence of lies with the clenched fist of truth. I'm the National Rifle Association of America, and I'm freedom's safest place."

Thought I'd post this because there's been quite a bit of controversy about this ad, because it sounds and reads like a call for NRA members to take up arms against the left. It's like they're going full Pinochet.

can't read it with adblock on ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Still better than anything the ira teaches

hi i'm the national rifle association of america, welcome to jackass

Pretty accurate description of the left atm I don't see a problem here!

that's so forgetin cheesy lmao

i don't see any problem of what they're saying here but it kinda sounds like both sides tbqh

basically reiterating self-defense, but with a political motive.

The NRA is well known for their one-sided and biased narratives, but i guess they're right that you should have the right to self defense. Still I think fighting lies with a clenched assault rifle is one thing and self defense is another

It's clear that they mean to target just the rioters and violent left but their language is intentionally vague so they can appeal to the more radical side of the right too. Either way, they aren't doing anything illegal so who can complain

i don't understand

i thought they were already armed

i thought that was their entire gig: being armed

You can never be armed enough
You need an Ar-15 slung over your shoulder, a P22 at your side, and an ankle holster in case things go sideways
Plus 15 spare mags for each of them

Using the most easily concealable gun with the highest magazine capacity is objectively the best way to stay armed. It's efficient to use the most cost effective, smallest gun with the most bullets as the highest chance scenario of a gunfight will be within 20 meters and whoever fires first will have the advantage

An AR-15 will be too heavy and large to carry around efficiently and in the time it takes you to fire it, anyone with a pistol can easily draw and shoot you first. Also it's super expensive
