Author Topic: [opinion thread] how do you feel about refugees entering the US?  (Read 2176 times)

that was basically the point of america
it was the place you could go to start over

if a people's way of life is threatened then we should help them

they shouldn't get welfare and they should fully integrate into society, talk like we do and dump their back-asswards ideology otherwise forget no

that's against the 1st amendment

I think we need to fix our problems at home before we try to fix their problems

you could argue sharia is against the 1st amendment too given just all the stuff women get under that system

The aspects of sharia law that violate other parts of the amendment and human rights is obviously illegal. But just believing in it at heart won't do anything and the government shouldn't be charging people for thought crimes

Our problems are pretty minor compared to the life threatening relocation of most refugees. I'm not saying that it outweighs ours but, i'm sure with such a lofty budget we can focus more of the military effort on housing refugees in conjunction with fighting against radicalized terrorist groups

we could always just declare the violent sects like wahhabism and deobandism to be extremist cults, and not valid portions of islam under US law (although they are theologically speaking valid portions of islam)

no opinion on the matter

If they're fully organized as a collective with leadership and followers + plan attacks coordinatingly then they'd probably be terrorists and i'd be behind stopping them. But simply believing that everyone else is a apostate and should die isn't a crime.

Theoretically bringing them in is a great idea, but if we funnel them into ghettos (inevitable), it's going to backfire.

better than labor camps right karl
