The University of Arizona apparently hasn’t heard the term “snitches get stitches,” because they’re going full on national socialist by hiring a horde of “social justice advocates” that are encouraged to spy on other students and report intolerance. On top of that, they’re encouraged to hold on-campus events that only a snowflake would find enjoyable.
These students would get paid $10 and hour to do all this, and they only have to work a cushy 15 hours a week, which means they could be getting paid $600 a week to turn their fellow students in to the thought police.
This position, which they’ve since deleted off their page, calls for the advocate to “Report any bias incidents or claims to appropriate Residence Life staff” as well as to “Create an environment that enables Residence Life student leaders to dialogue around topics related to diversity, multiculturalism and social justice.”
The point of this position, according to the description, is to “increase understanding of one’s own self through critical reflection of power and privilege, identity and intersectionality, systems of socialization, cultural competency and allyship as they pertain to the acknowledgement, understanding and acceptance of differences. Finally, this position intends to increase a student staff member’s ability to openly lead conversations, discuss differences and confront diversely insensitive behavior.”
These students are also expected to host events that focus on SJW issues, like “the mosaic of diversity, multiculturalism and inclusivity. They will also create bulletin boards in the halls and maintain their upkeep as necessary.”
