i was having this debate between some of my friends. i believe that anything is a pet if you could truly domesticate it. however, i don't think pigs are pets.

I feel like a pet depends on how you're treating it
if you're just raising it as food, then it's more like livestock and not a pet
if you're raising it for the sake of having it around, then it's more like a pet

Pigs are classified as an animal meant for harvest, or basically livestock. Pigs fall nowhere near where dogs, cats, fish, or even a damned horse sit on the scale of what is classified as a pet. Yes even though we domesticated pigs that does not make them a pet. Cows are domesticated but you wouldn't have one running around your house.

So while some people (absolute mongletards) may have them as pets, pigs are livestock.
