World War II Online recreates the brutal war in Western Europe in a zone-less 300,000 SQ KM game world! Free play, MMOFPS, true combined arms action, with over 100 historically accurate weapons and vehicles, 10 personas, and much more!

Physics Based PVP Combat

Combat Realism
Realism is taken to a new level - This isn't another arcade-style World War II shooter! Our weapons and vehicles are modeled utilizing historical data after hundreds of hours of research.

The game's designers came to World War II Online from award-winning MMO combat flight simulation titles and have carried over a dedication to realism and simulation style game play whenever possible.

Simulation
A proprietary physics engine powers an advanced, component-based damage model for vehicles that simulates the actual components found in World War II units. In addition, we accurately model armor thickness down to the millimeter and flight models for aircraft down to every surface and control for a true-to-life simulation. Even the ballistics are precisely and accurately modeled for each type of bullet or round in the game.

All of these elements provide realism, creating a skill-based simulation where players must learn to properly employ the weapons and equipment available.

Real Players - Real Time

All combat is alongside live players in the same game world where every vehicle or weapon is controlled by a real person. The game world is a single zone-less map set at half scale of the European Theater between 1390-1944. From this map, the game provides winnable campaigns that are completely player-controlled and non-scripted. Some campaigns have lasted for more than two months before a victor was decided.

Massive Scale

World War II Online is a massive scale WAR going on 24/7 driven by players. There are absolutely no zones, you can fly your aircraft from one end of the map to the other without despawning.

Hundreds of players can end up in the same fight or supporting that battle in the Army, Air Force or Navy. This scale and combined arms realism is the core that makes World War II Online stand out from everything else on the market.

The game is in active development to this day. Old development team was disbanded and a new one was put in its place.

Steam Release Plan

Quote
S! everyone, the time you have all been waiting for is close at hand!

Today we will be letting you all know our roll out plan for the Steam release of WWII Online!

Our plan is to begin rolling out the game by region starting on September 5! As we roll out, we will be monitoring all of our systems and ensuring that everything is running up to snuff and will continue to add users by region until we're available everywhere!

On September 5, we will be making the game available for all of North and South America (except the USA).

We will then be releasing WWII Online to the USA on September 8, followed by Europe on September 12, Asia on September 15, and finally Oceania and the rest of the world on September 19.

We're excited to get all of the Steam users into game! Due to the staggered nature of the release, we are going to be extending a special offer for all Steam users who sign up during the month of September we will be extending the 2 week trial to a full 30 days.

Once this 30 day trial period is completed, users who do not subscribe to either the Starter or Premium subscription will be able to continue playing using the perpetual Free Play account.

We would also like to announce some other special things we have planned to coincide with our release on Steam!

First, we will be welcoming back all of our Veterans with a very special Welcome Back Soldier event! This Welcome Back Soldier will be different from any that we've done in the past, so if you're a veteran player, make sure to watch out for important communications from RAT HQ with the instructions on how to take part in this awesome promotion!

Second, the High Commands, in collaboration with the players and in game Squads, will be organizing several server wide operations that will bring your team together to face the enemy to capture strategic objectives all along the front line! Get in game and watch the forums for details on these great community events!

It's time to get your friends together and get ready to join the fight! An exciting new chapter in the history of WWII Online is about to begin!

The Virtual Battlefield does exist!

United States is getting WWII Online today, probably at noon or so. We had 400+ players on when the game first opened for South America, Mexico, and Canada. Let's see what happens here.

There aren't anything like microtransactions or the like, yeah? If I want to play, I'm not gonna have to shell out all my money to get, say, a tank, right?

EDIT: actually reading through the subs and stuff answered most of my questions anyways

brother forget is this subscription bullstuff

lol 9/11 didn't even happen yet

Wouldn't recommend playing unless you want to be dedicated. People have been playing this game for 10+ years, and they've stuck around. You can't, and won't be killing anyone unless they're free to play.
