Author Topic: guitarists of the blf: what's a good amp under $200?  (Read 2722 times)

any good jackson guitars you know of under $400?

JS series for Jackson ranges anywhere from $200 -300. They come in various colors and orientations and I've heard many good things from them from die hard Jackson players that go way back to the 80's. If you wanna pay a little more you can try out the x series which cost anywhere from $500-900 but most of them are in the $500-700 range. The x series usually comes with brand name pickups like EMG and Seymour Duncans and Floyd Rose Specials just to name a few specs. If you don't wanna forget with guitar center or Sweetwater you can try Reverb.com they always have great deals on new and used gears from amps to guitars and in between.

Sweetwater is great wth

Oh I know I love Sweetwater especially their candy bags and their dedication  I'm just saying there is other options like the used market.

i don't like used guitars. you don't know exactly what has been done with it and how well it was taken care of.

There are too many guitars out there. A ridiculous amount, and they keep manufacturing more and more. You could probably buy a good axe on Craigslist from someone that bought it and then gave up on it. The same goes for amps. Buying new is cool but it's silly to ignore the used market unless you don't care about money much.

I can understand why you would be hesitant on used gear but that Reverb website is a great place to get used gear but yes you should always be weary

Reverb has an excellent buyer's protection program guaranteed when you purchase anything on their website. I bought my most expensive, and favorite guitar off of Reverb. It's a good site.

my god this is so loving nice but it's out of my price range

Looks pretty good considering the hardware its got not to mention birdseye maple fretboard and a nice flame maple top

Used Ibanez with an Edge III trem, much better trem than the one you initially linked
Here's a loving Charvel with some incredible specs for the price. Made in Japan import.

I'll tell you right now that the make of the guitar won't have much bearing on how you're going to sound, especially if you want that Randy Rhoads sound. Pickups matter most in that vein, and even moreso, how you actually play.

Totally Agree on how you play part and on a side note 1 day I'll own an 80's Charvel and 80's Jackson thats all I want and I've been eyeballing this motherforget for a while...

i don't want to play like randy rhoads-- i want to play with his styling like habits and technique.

i also don't want to play like david gilmour- i want to utilize his technique.

also those guitars looks great but i'm not sure how well i would be on the bidding scene.
