Dysphoria is what prompts transition. Once transition is finished, the dysphoria goes away but they are still technically transgender because they transitioned. That is why transitioning is considered the best treatment for gender dysphoria, it's an actual cure with low medical risk.

That is a huge problem and it stems from the left's recent "tolerate everything" mindset that has allowed the muddying of words like transgender. As far as I'm concerned, people should only be officially considered transgender if they have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria. Medical proof of the disease is enough. I don't think we have to go so far as forcing them to transition to be recognized as transgender (being recognized as a different love is separate imo). I say that mainly because not everyone can afford to transition, so it'd be weird to use that as a criteria.
