to be clear: the difference is that that person is still alive.

i dont know about you guys but i dont think its good if anyone gets hurt
ideally both groups should be punished, no doubting that

"There was violence on both sides but because one side killed someone the other side is absolved of their crimes"

no but its obvious which side is going to be receiving a worse image in the eyes of the public

It took an unhinged individual to drive into a crowd of counter-protesters. It also took some level of aggression to beat people with sticks, or lob chemical irritants at crowds.

However... the protesters marched into town chanting "Blood and soil", carrying shields, torches and fashioned batons. It's safe to say the situation started off escalated beyond what one could consider a peaceful protest.

The side that wasnt a martyr of the law by comparison.
Because of this stuff, the real white supremacists are going to come out in droves because the memey stufflord ones are becoming forgetin martyrs while the opposing side of the same coin gets off with barely a slap on the wrist.

they were armed because Antifa has been constantly attacking any other peaceful protests to the point that people have started arming themselves in order not to have their heads caved in

I know they were beyond violent too but if the left had called out Antifa the first time they attacked a peaceful protest they literally would not have this excuse

Wait, huh

We just saw the real white supremacists in Charlottesville. Those weren't meme guys, they were pretty serious groups like Traditionalist Workers, League of the South, National Socialist Movement, etc.

again, the memey stufflord ones aren't the alt-right, the memey stufflords are conservatives

to be alt-right you have to be a white identitarian, which means you have to be a SJW but with white people

if you're still confused about who is and isn't alt-right, Gavin McInnes and the Proud Boys didn't show up to either rally
there's your divide

i think the reason people are especially upset about this is because of the moral grounding of it all. fighting because you feel like you're being systematically oppressed or sense impending political turmoil for yourself or others feels a lot different from fighting because you believe others to be inferior to yourself. whether or not in practice those are the actual ideologies at work is a debatable, but at the very least i think everyone can understand that those are the two basic motivations at play and that they're entirely different (ethically speaking) in the eyes of the majority

The guy who organized the Charlottesville rally was a Proud Boy IIRC

i feel like poes law really forgets up the definition of what you should consider alt-right
after all, if you go the full mile to act like you're alt right, what's to differ you from people who legitimately believe that white people have genetic advantages

The difference is memelords won't actually go and do this stuff irl unless they're complete idiots
Mind you there is some overlap, naturally, but it's like squares and rectangles.. wait no, that's not a good brown townogy, not everyone on the alt right is a memelord
