Not necessarily trying to start a debate here, but if one starts, please keep it civil. I just want to get a general idea on the BLF's opinion on this. Thanks :)

The statue of Jefferson Davis is placed in a trailer while crews continue to remove the statue
of Woodrow Wilson from the Main Mall on the UT campus on Sunday, August 30, 2015.

removal? no
moving them? i mean i'm not going to fight against it

as long as they're being moved to a museum/storage (i.e. not destroyed) i see no problem with it.

blow up all statues replace them with my face when i was 10

i support the idea of moving them to more appropriate places, like battlefield memorials or museums should the town not want that kind of glorification anymore

i dont support the idea of illegally destroying public property

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeh I mean, no, but, I guess like everyone else said, if it's being moved to a memorial then fine I guess? But it just seems kind of pointless all around to me.

p much my stance here as well

moving the statue to a museum or something > destroying it

no lol. nothing over 100 years should be removed with the exception of rebel flags. it's extremely disrespectful and honestly traitorous to fly the flag of the group that killed more US soldiers than any other in history

we cant hold people from the 1800s to the standards of modern morality. it's ridiculous. but to endorse that sort of logic today is even worse.

I think they should be removed from those public spaces like parks, but they do have a place in museums and battlefield monuments.

I think that statues being destroyed is wrong, but moving them to another location is acceptable.
