this, sometimes proffessors say they go off of a different textbook than the one in the syllabus

you buy your books before class. usually you have like a week or two to refund them once class starts because your teachers will tell you if you actually need them or not

lol, I don't buy textbooks
often they're not required, and if they are somebody I sit near will probably have a pdf of it and I tell them to put it up on leopard hosting and give me the link

last year I paid $392 for 1 textbook so I feel your pain  :))))

My calc book is $300 and it's one of those upadated-every-year-but-miniscule-changes kind of textbook. And we also have to buy the matlab access forget me.

I cut it pretty close with $494/$500 on my book voucher. I really wish I could find a digital version of my physics book because it weighs a stuff ton. My first day back is tomorrow  :<
