bad, but understandable. for how they're special, you have to realize the context. look at how the sound of music changed from the time they started to when they were done. they jumpstarted the british invasion and started the push away from motown and shallow beach songs. created (or popularized) the concept album and the untouchable pop star boy band phenomenon. I can understand looking back and not enjoying them/finding them too different from what else is out there, but they're important because they changed the sound of music. they're super unique compared to what came before them.
