Why 2 different monitors they have different resolutions
I have two different resolution monitors (1440p and 1080p) and I love it. Because on 1440p, general things like web browsing, everything is just too small to see without zooming in. So I do that on the 1080p and things like gaming and photo editing on the 1440p,

oh and also

I recommend getting a better cooler

can I get some recommendations

what do you need a sound card for

sound production and gaming

your motherboard has 7.1 output, unless you actually do professional sound stuff I wouldn't waste the money. they're pretty pricy for what little benefit they provide over motherboard sound

Actually a decent soundcard/DAC blows motherboard audio out of the water.

I've found a good DAC, the Schiit (yes, it's pronouced how you think it is) Modi 2 for 99$

anyone got any other suggestions?

I've talked with my composition teacher, he's all for the Modi 2 but I'll keep looking regardless

Renderman recommended a different motherboard
what can I do to bring down costs

and does op actually have proper headphones and software to be driven by that or not

I don't use headphones but you can check the modi website to see if they have the required software
I'm p sure that the DAC I picked is doesn't need drivers

no what im saying is do you have high enough quality software to actually use the soundcard and do you have high quality enough speakers to warrant the sound card

if the software doesnt even put anything out above what the onboard card can do then theres no reason, same with the speakers

playing 128 kbps youtube rips on windows media player doesnt warrant a 100 dollar soundcard, producing actual music with programs like FL-Studio or maybe audacity or some stuff could warrant it
