Are the Blockland Forums in limbo right now?

The purge going on in Drama is pretty much entirely related to in-game bullstuff and has nothing to do with the SM thread. He's banning people who are DDoSing servers, which is basically just normal procedure.

Toxicology made the classic mistake of anyone who's ever gone to war with America: he mistook tolerance for weakness.

People are definitely getting purged for the SM stuff and trying to get a reaction out of Badspot, and the culprit for the DDoSing hasn't been found yet unless if I'm missing something, in which case a quick run down of what I've missed would suffice.

It so happened that 8 different things are happening all at once. I mean, I'm certain that there isn't a limit to that, is there?
Instead of the apocalypse, take this as a once-in-a-lifetime moment where a good guy's secret identity is discovered (Elektrk as "Ad Bøt") and prosecuted while a couple bad guys take that as a sign that the heat is away from them, and get caught red-handed.

Speaking of which moment, these have happened multiple times in the form of 'purges.' That makes them not really 'once,' but it is fascinating when it happens. Sometimes during these purges the wrong man at the wrong place is hit.
This is surely not the only example but I'll use myself as an example, as I was unintentionally the last part of the "King of X" chainban. I didn't like being banned, but I didn't run around screaming with a sandwich ad writing "THE END IS NIGH" and addressed the issue civilly with the rest after I could post again.

Is stuffposting with a novelty account really something a "good guy" would do? No wrong man was hit, it was methodically calculated. Electrk's fate was sealed the moment he created that ad bot forum account. Everything is beginning to fall in place with toxicology getting perma'd again. He is like a martyr now and he's going to rally his underlings to stir up more stuff. This is a much different situation from your regular chain ban and we're all going to feel the arm soon.

I've been lurking since I bought BL but I joined the party a bit late (see the difference in my ID and date I registered here), I've been more actively posting recently I guess but these events have captured my attention enough to speak out about it.

Nothing has changed yet, but people aren't going to drop this and it's going to spiral out of control. I've done no wrong so I'm not worried about getting banned, I'm worried about the fate of Blockland in general. Badspot's said that ads are barely keeping the forums above water and that its benefit towards blockland sales has more or less diminished. What is going to keep him from saying forget it and kicking us all to the curb if he isn't profiting and his community is constantly taking the piss out of him? Am I wrong for being worried about how these events are unfolding? I'll admit the allusions to an apocalypse may be unnecessary but that's how it'll feel for a lot of people if something actually happens from all of this.

1) he never said blockland forums wasn't bringing in any profit, he just said it brings in less profit than satin minions. that's like saying your cookie stand brings in less money than the lemonade stand, so you should tear it down. why not just keep them both around and make profit off of both of them? BLF isn't a net loss for him, it's a net gain, just not as much as satin minions

2) there's no apocalypse. blockland has at least 4-5 years before it dies

3) the only person that did wrong was the guy that linked satin minions and the guy who is ddosing the master server. nobody else was 'purged' or anything like you said

4) nobody is taking the piss out of him. this is the equivalent of your little brother drawing on your white t-shirt with crayon. sure it'll piss you off for a minute or two, but it's not something you're going to lose sleep over, much less kick him out of the house for. i'm sure badspot has much more important things in life than taking his anger out on people.

Badspot didn't "methodically calculate" any of this, he just spotted the screw ups and a fine job he did outside of the "Ad Bøt" account, whose 'stuffposts' were few, and also both accurate and funny commentary on what was happening at the time. One of the ads may have been a bit too personal to Badspot but everyone knew it was in good and well-intentioned fun. In other words, Electrk just happened to be identified as the fake ad bot while Toxicology just did the crime and got the time, both at the same time. It just happened.

Badspot isn't the kind of person to go down without a fight, or break down after a disaster. He would've closed shop at TBM if that were the case. He will deal with the situation like a good administrator and then live his life like he wants to.
Heck, nobody here's going down without a fight - Glass Hosting is the main victim and also the main defender against the ongoing DDoS attacks, with DDoS-resistant services being used to hold the fort as far as it can be held because we have smart people within this fort.

In short, Blockland's Y2K didn't happen yet. Don't panic.

As soon as he bought that account for the intention of mimicing the ad bot, his fate WAS sealed. It's been considered sock puppeting in other cases like this. If he thought he'd be able to fly under the radar while doing that he was sorely mistaken. Him bringing up and linking satin minions was just the icing on the cake.
