Author Topic: Atari Box sinks to crowdfunding depths  (Read 5198 times)

Yeah but is there any hardware kickstarter that isn't a scam by that standard?
Years ago, I had high hopes for CLANG since it was an exploratory project that wasn't banking on releasing a deliverable game. I figured the lower expectations would mean that they could focus on the hardware and create a platform for other devs to use. Ended up being a huge tire-fire of a project and killed all my remaining enthusiasm for crowdfunding.

i actually bought an ouya. the marketplace was full of trash games, but at least it was a decent android box that you could use xbmc and emulators on.
this ataribox, i bet you 1000 dollars its going to be worse than ouya

so does this mean they couldn't find any actual investors?

Remember the Coleco Chameleon?

There were so many entertaining podcasts with Pat the NES Punk on that one.

wasnt the first video game tennis for two
I thought it was Computer Space

More details about the Ataribox were released. Basically a PC, except it can't run Triple-A games.

So it's a steam machine with the atari logo on it
