Author Topic: cod ww2 beta is live on steam  (Read 3127 times)

gonna give it a shot, not expecting much but as someone who grew up with black ops 1/2 in highschool i wanna see what they are up to these days

Please let me use the loving MP40, I need more "TAK TAK TAK TAK TAK" in my life

i played it a bit, it's honestly a carbon copy of every other cod game except with ww2 guns. the sniper is really OP with its 1 shot ability and the shotgun has incendiary rounds that loving instakill anything

steam reviews are scathing, mostly negative
tl;dr of reviews: yet another cheap generic call of duty that's been working off the same age old formula for years, especially shown by how historically inaccurate the game is (UAVs and red laser sights, in the 1940s, seriously?), horribly optimized for PC and runs like stuff and crashes a whole ton, has a stupid focus on diversity (no swastikas, black and female soldiers all over the place), limited diversity of weapons, does not use dedicated servers and uses peer to peer which, while fine in a game like splatoon, definitely wouldnt work in a game like COD, unbalanced gameplay, horrible hitboxes, terrible spawnpoints
tl;dr of tl;dr: same old stuff, inaccurate to timeframe, runs like stuff on PC, has stupid focus on diversity, very poorly balanced, bad netcode

battlefield wins the aaa market again

in other words, water is wet

In my experience, it's the complete opposite.
I get 100+ frames, the gameplay and map design is very simplistic (like old CoDs), there's literally zero reason to give a forget about what the person you're shooting identifies as, and the netcode isnt any different from games like Battlefield.

I hate to defend this, but it seems like 90% of the people who've decided to jump on the bandwagon time and time again haven't even tried it. They're going back to the old formulas (the ones people liked) and people are still pissy. I had fun playing it.

"My arcade shooter isn't realistic so I don't like it. Also, Splatoon is a good game."

I dont know who's saying the new COD runs like stuff, it runs just fine for me

i'm just tl;dring what i'm seeing of the steam reviews in general. i actually don't care that it's inaccurate that much.

they didn't actually say anything about splatoon's quality, just how it's an example of a game with peer-to-peer where it's not as big of a deal

honestly when i saw a black female sniper fighting for the germans i scratched my head a bit, but who the forget cares.

it's a good game in general, but it's functionally identical to every other cod game you've played. with that being said, it's definitely not worth the $60 you'd pay for the game. even if they pack it with a full single player campaign, zombies and like 20 multiplayer maps, it's still just another cod game in the series. nothing new on the table, but it's still fun as a time waster

ok so i actually tried it last night and i got about 10 minutes in, and i was actually enjoying it and then it crashed
havent gotten to rebooting it, probably will after lunch. if it crashes again, it'll really show how treyarch is much better at pc porting

people are saying the reflex sights are stupid are partially right and wrong

reflector sights were used its just.. they were typically used on aircraft, and any other heavy ordnance, not really infantry weapons

im pretty sure COD does not fall into arcade shooters, it's supposed to mimic reality (hence why its called world war 2.......)

the reason why people give two richards about mUH dIveRSITy is because it's mimicing WW2. the game is called COD:WW2 for a forgetin reason, they expect it to be similar to how world war 2 was.

i don't really play COD, or any shooters for that matter, so i could care less about mUh DiverSiTy and rED Dot SiTeS aND iNcendIarY ShoTGUn iN Ww2!!N!epp1ePENP1npe1eP!NEp1IO!NEO!EON
