"automatic or semi-automatic"

that literally describes all guns

your friend is right
obviously i meant the guns used in the shooting

you said "any weapon that isn't automatic or semi-automatic", not "any rifle that isn't automatic or semi-automatic"

disregarding that automatic weapons are already mostly illegal, do you know how long it takes to rooster a bolt-action? your dad is lucky he doesn't miss

i guess you could say hes pretty skilled. hunting culture up in that part of utah is rich asf

there you go
your dad is not the majority

I'm sure he could tell you this, but if you miss with a bolt-action whatever you're hunting is gone by the time you line up the next shot
not the case with semi-auto, which is also why they're so good for self-defense too

correct me if im wrong but a semi automatic is a gun that you don't have to reload between shots while an automatic is a gun you don't have to let go of the trigger
thus a revolver, many rifles, or many shotguns and stuff like that are neither semi nor full auto

anyways the answer to the question of why semis are allowed is just that they're convenient. whether for sport, hobby, or crime that's just it. i shoot a range as often as the bullet cost allows me and i gotta say bullpups and stuff are pretty damn fun to screw with
of course that's also the reason you don't see people with muskets in their basements but you know

semiautomatic is like a pistol-- the gun does its work every shot so you don't have to rerooster it. automatic is firing bullets nonstop when holding the trigger.

nvm that's what you just said

revolvers have only six shots, are difficult to reload and are usually of ridiculously high caliber

shotguns have a problem with collateral damage, not to mention the blowback

Semi auto is a single shot with a single pull of the trigger, which can be followed up by more shots without having to manually eject and reload the cartridge.

Fully Automatic is holding the trigger down and the gun with fire until you let go.

Saying "I don't see a need for a civilian to have a semi-automatic weapon" is a huge loving blanket and its a dumb thing to say. You've already gotten your way with fully automatic weapons which most agree was a needed restriction, but i'll be damned if this isn't some slippery slope bullstuff.

yea id honestly be pretty pissed if semis somehow got banned. revolvers i could live with but pump shotguns are a forgetin pain to deal with

holy stuff my condolences man

i guess that makes sense than. alot of people use semis for reasons that are understandable and i get that

i guess i was just taken aback by being called a libtard outright. I was like damn i dont like extreme liberals and the far left just as much as you do man. i was just trying to be reasonable and ofc im not conpletely anti gun because thats just handicapped
