Author Topic: should reaction videos be taken off of youtube  (Read 2151 times)

essentially
do you think that reaction videos violate copyright/aren't protected by fair use

NOTE: reaction videos, in this thread at the very least, are classified as videos where the reactor basically uploads the video and watches it, without transforming it in any sort of way
this encompasses people like the fine bros, jinx, cjiscool and people like them
this does NOT include people like h3h3 or other commentary channels, and it does NOT include response videos

No. They're nearly effortless and imo in poor taste as far as creation goes, but no, people can post what they want.

h3h3 basically forgeted that idea right in half the day they won their case. Reaction videos are eternal.

to make a sweeping statement like "all reaction videos are copyright infringement" is immediately disproven by H3H3 having won their lawsuit so no

I don't classify h3h3's videos as reaction videos. They're more of commentary videos, like what certain political users on the site do. That, and they're transformative.

I think I should've specified, I mean the people who sit in front of a camera and just watch other people's content without transforming it, channels like the Fine Bros and those guys who just watch a video and make faces.

i classify reaction videos where they just look at the video, nod a few times, makes a few funny faces, and look at the camera a few times. those are effortless videos that spit in the face of people who actually put work into their videos and get as much views as some handicap with a webcam.

h3h3 does it right because he doesn't do any of the stuff i listed, except the funny faces.

Everything should be taken off youtube

youtube needs to shut down

# Y o u T u b e I s O v e r P a r t y

there are the reaction videos where people just stare at the screen with a completely blank expression

then there are the ones that hillkill described, which is sort of a reaction

then there are the actual reactions where people actually talk about the video they are reacting to from their point of view and doing a review on what they reacted to at the end of the video

i classify this last one as an actual reaction video

there are the reaction videos where people just stare at the screen with a completely blank expression

reaction

then there are the ones that hillkill described, which is sort of a reaction

commentary

then there are the actual reactions where people actually talk about the video they are reacting to from their point of view and doing a review on what they reacted to at the end of the video

I'm debating whether lumping this in the same category; I mean, why not just make a video review, then? why post the whole video?

Youtube is removing enough stuff as it is, we don't need even more restrictions loving everything up.

That being said the fact that youtube cracked down on idubbbz for his content cop videos 'misleading title' but do forget all about leaffy who outright lies in the titles of his videos. is loving stupid. Some heads need to be cracked at google.

hey guys have you heard of this great website called vid.me
