I am not pro gameplay altering multiplayer microtransactions

Sort of a rant here because this stuff REALLY boils my blood

Im just over here reading the reviews on Shadow of War, and everyone is saying its good. A real loving homerun, fun gameplay, neat little mechanics and such. Some bugs here and there lowering the score, but that is normal with initial releases.

I scroll down to read the actual reviews, and there is just this SEA of bullstuff. This sea of MORONS complaining about microtransactions. A vast majority of them saying something along the lines of, "Wow this game is so good, but it costs money and there are microtransactions so Ill drop the score by 90 percent." forget these people, forget ALL OF THEM AGH.

Say you took a grinding game (which this is) like Disgaea which already has high reviews. You need to put time in to level stuff up, now the devs want more money so they add a shortcut to level up instantly under the SAME system. People would just flood into Disgaea's reviews and drop negative reviews even though its the same loving game.

AAA video games are so loving expensive to make, and they are worth far more than $60 dollars. Why do these handicaps need to cry about having to spend money on stuff. Why do they get to voice their opinions (why are their opinions in the spotlight, rather) on whats expensive and whats not when most of them are probably in highschool sucking money off of their parents or working part time?

God forbid a studio wants to actually pay its couple thousand employees a fair salary. I make mildly above minimum wage and this stuff is NOT expensive (sorry third world friends). Video games are hobbies and hobbies cost money. Games are a cheap hobby too.

loving forget.

Some people are saying that you need loot boxes to win, everyone Ive spoken to said this is false. There are some reviews saying you dont need them either as well.

That being said I think we need to KILL THE POOR

i really dont mind them. they're... stupid? you're probably stupid if you buy them. but i don't think they make a game any worse for their inclusion in most cases.

i didnt pay 60 bucks just to pay another 5 bucks to get past the boring parts of a form of entertainment

Yeah thats what I believe too. But theres like this wave of people who are really loud and theyre shouting about CHANGE and companies being greedy. Nothings going to happen either way so I guess I should be fine with it all. Its just these people are really annoying.

Yes you did. The option is there but you dont need to take it.

if they know that grinding is boring then why make the player grind? it seems like a real scummy way to pump some extra cash out of people

"Why dont i get daedric armor when I leave the first dungeon in Skyrim?"

Granted you can just cheat it in, but honestly how long until people just find a work around for a game like this

12 steam bucks have been deposited into your account

oy very I was promised 20

It all depends on why those microtransactions are in there.

Are they really just there as an option? For that little thing on the side 'just in case' people want them?
Or are they there because they tweaked the base game so that it's less fun and more 'grindy' without them?

This is especially concerning for single player games. As a majority of the cosmetic appeal is out the window if there's no one else to witness how good you look.

Grinding is almost a guarantee if you're going to be playing any role playing game like Skyrim. If you didn't like grinding, why would you purchase a game like that? Microtransactions are typically used as another way to squeeze some money out of people; World of Tanks and War Thunder both require a lot of grinding, but if you pay real life money, it becomes much more tolerable (perhaps close to an actual RPG of immense length, instead of a month-long grind for one new thing)

relevant: for a primarily multiplayer game, would you rather have microtransactions and pretty common free content updates or 10 dollar map packs every few months?

I would rather the former for sure. At least the micros are avoidable, as where they make sure to make people feel like the map packs are mandatory. Also $10 is pretty generous. Aren't they typically much more than that?

From what I understand it hasnt affected the game much and its just a dice roll for random troops to add, and you can do it like once or twice a day for free given youre actually playing.

This too

im pretty alright with a system like that existing in a free to play game. i bought the extra plane slots, for example, since i think for the amount of time warthunder's entertained me i can afford to give those devs some dollars.
