Author Topic: /r/incels is finally dead.  (Read 7008 times)

where will i get my cringe from now ):

i dont get why this got banned but subs like r/the_donald dont. like why is people people talking about how they hate women any worse than advocating white supremacy marches? not trying to get political, it just seems weird they would single this one out when theres equally trashy subs out there. ive never browsed r/incel tho so maybe they organize gang rapes or something, educate me if im wrong

never thought i'd see people be defensive of angry virgins but thats the forums i guess

Concurring opinion; both subs deserve to get merked

I mean, /r/the_donald is kind of a default commodity. There are people on the internet that support Donald Annoying Orange. Lots of them. You could make the case that there's a bunch of stuffty people on /r/the_donald who constantly break the site's rules, but there's nothing inherently loveist/tribal/whatever about the subreddit itself. A place for discussing Annoying Orange (made by his followers) has to exist on Reddit because he's the President and potentially the most controversial figure alive right now. You can't ban /r/the_donald for the same reason you can't ban /r/science or /r/worldnews.

On the other hand, /r/incels had loveism as like a core theme. The whole point of the subreddit was to provide a discussion space for miffed men to bitch about how evil women are for not wanting to sleep with their ugly asses.

remember when u said u would shut up about politics in your signature

Came back to this stuff and I like "well"

hahahahahaahahahahahahahahhah aahahah

I'm going to talk about it less often but I think if stuff like that is going to fly without any opposition I think I want to call it out from time to time

Also getting rid of both of those subs is politically transcendent, everyone wants them to go away

I mean the whole concept of incels is handicapped as forget but I feel like some of these guys need a place to talk to each other because they're genuinely hurting. So while I find the idea of "involuntary celibacy" idiotic, I don't see why they had to be shut down. z

Operating word being SOME. I am aware most of these guys are just fat loving stuffholes.

I don't think any subreddit 'needs' to get shut down unless it's peddling CP. But in this case the reason why it got shut down is because reddit has a sort of unofficial sitewide policy about banning subreddits which are overtly hateful. /r/incels was full of countless posts about raping/murdering/kidnapping women, and the admins of the subreddit didn't seem to give a stuff.

im pretty sure r/mgtow exists for exactly that reason

Yeah, I guess that's fair. Like I said, I know most of them are stuffholes but there are a few guys out there that just need some encouragement so they don't become one of those stuffholes.

Earlier today in a Discord I mod based off a subreddit, we discussed the nature of Reddit. The problem is that if you subscribe and contribute to a sub, you're going in because you agree/like that content. It becomes a kind of echo chamber, which builds in intensity as more people with similar opinions and values start sharing their slightly differing perspectives.

Incels is not a healthy place for a person with genuine inter-personal issues. They will find no help in that kind of environment.

Torin, what's wrong? Why are you so incredibly hostile to literally everybody? It's not even funny or necessary, it's just straight up attack anybody randomly.

but I feel like some of these guys need a place to talk to each other because they're genuinely hurting.

These guys need a psychologist, not a safe space to talk about how much they hate women
