it has unfortunate side effects and leads to inequality, poverty, and considerable suffering, but it also leads to economic growth and innovation
in any case, total state control is definitely not the answer. i'm a fan of social democracy; you get most of the benefits of capitalism, but wealth redistribution and welfare programs lessen the negative effects
syndicalism might work too but i'm not well-versed in it so i'm not entirely sure
