DS can't find Android Hotspot

Author Topic: DS can't find Android Hotspot  (Read 718 times)

I've been fiddling with this for a while and can't get it to work. Google isn't helping much either. Anyone have this issue and know a fix?

Had it set to 5 ghz and ds only supports 2.4.

Now it won't register the internet connection but it at least sees the access point. Any advice?

can you be more specific? do you mean it doesn't connect at all? or can you get to the password prompt?
any error messages?

be sure your mobile hotspot is running on the correct band (aka 802.11a / b / g / n or whatever) that the nintendo ds uses

It will connect, register the access point, and then fail the internet test portion.

does the hotspot work if you connect something else to it, like a laptop?

is this the regular DS or the 3ds?

assuming regular DS, it does not support WPA2-TSK security so if you want to connect to the internet you need to turn the security type to something the DS supports or turn it off entirely (aka unpassworded which is not recommended)

3ds. Password is standard wpa2 aes

if I remember correctly, the original ds was garbage at connecting to WiFi. You had to port forward everything to get it to work.

If I remember game devices are known to have issues connecting to hotspots

Had to change the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 gg nintendo
