if that's your criteria for what shouldn't be obtainable eighteen-year-olds then we should ban any type of gun, including paintball guns and BB guns, and knives from being used by eighteen-year-olds

sorry boy scouts but those pocket knives are clearly meant to cause damage to things

i'm not no gun hating commie but i was just trying to say (in a stupid way) that the "x kills more than y" argument is worn out and bullstuff.

>the army would totally fire on their own people guys i swear
see but that's a totally different idea than 'hurr the NRA would overthrow the govt'

there have been loads of surveys of active/former members of the armed services showing that they would absolutely mutiny if the government ordered them to do stuff that's blatantly unconstitutional (like, for instance, breaking into people's homes without a warrant and confiscating their firearms)

that's the safeguard our society has, not gun-nuts who think that they're the only lynch-pin keeping the gubmint from becoming a tyrannical authoritarian state

lol if you want guns just move out of america to iraq and join CIA, then from there CIA will become stronger and everyone in US will get gun to protect themselves from CIA.

when should people have guns then

"even though the military wouldn't be a large obstacle it's still handicapped to think that 300 million people with guns couldn't overthrow the government"

when should people have guns then
hes just saying the argument "cars kill more people than guns" is an irrelevant argument as it adds nothing to the discussion. it doesn't support or counter gun rights, as car-related deaths are accidents and a byproduct of its widespread use and the number of dumb people out there, while guns are designed to kill or harm people (aka not a byproduct/side effect) and not nearly as widespread. he's not making a statement on gun rights.

tac nuke's post about combat knives is more relevant, but even those have utility. you use a knife to cut rope or fabric, but it can also be used as a weapon. cars arent used as weapons nearly as often as guns or knives, and guns are literally only used to kill things and nothing else.

so he's just being a handicapped fence sitter then

have you heard of something called not taking a stance

you're trying really hard to put people on sides when the whole point was to comment about how his counterargument sucks and he should find a better one

have you heard of something called not taking a stance

if he's not taking a stance why is he arguing with people who have one? what's the point

dear fellow lego men: just want y'all to know that while you're all debating hard, i have no actual opinion on this issue. thank you for your valuable time.

capitalism mother forgeter

I like how a topic about Youtube gun channels sparks "government conspiracy" discussion.
It's a matter of idiots getting a hold of guns. No amount of education can fix that brand of stupid.

hes pointing out how tac nuke's argument is unconvincing and irrelevant. it doesnt mean he's against his position, he's just informing him.

there's no loving benefit for an 18 year old legally getting a gun
I just want to say that hunting is really fun, and bow seasons are too short.

You could try to argue that there's still no benefit to an 18 year old going out hunting, but there's a few. It makes getting pounds upon pounds of high-grade meat relatively cheap, and it helps cull populations of pests like whitetailed deer.
