Author Topic: Eli Roth's "Death Wish" Remake gets torn apart by politics  (Read 5378 times)

should i expect the iron giant to be given good ratings because "gun bad"

it'd be great if these garbage "critics" realized that hollywood and politics don't hold hands as much as it's made out to

though to be honest i've always found that professional movie critics constantly either a) purposely misinterpret it for their own agenda, or b) read too far into it and come out completely missing the point of the movie

Yes, most critics for mainstream publications are total hacks.

everyone shut the hell up about politics

am i the only one who hates this awful viral marketing campaign for this movie? cus i've seen at least 20 ads for this garbage movie and every one has Sway from forgetin sway in the morning talking about "yo have you seen this dude? straight outta a comic book!!". Not only is it immersion breaking, but it assumes i'm so simple minded that my thought process is "woah Sway talked about the movie i GOTTA peep this!". It's like what bill burr said about celebrity endorsements for political candidates - let me think for myself, don't use a pop culture icon to leech interest out of me

The culture war has been lost

No but seriously what the forget, this is why no one takes movie critics seriously anymore. What kind of dipstuff reviewer uses politics as a metric for a good movie. I'm so sick of this Annoying Orange Derangement Syndrome and everyone who has it needs to be lined up and shot before they breed
"the culture war has been lost"

how the forget will we ever survive without stuffty remakes of 70s movies

Yeah the issue is definitely stuffty remakes of 70s movies and not the shift to politics being used to judge creative works instead of their actual merits or lack thereof

Shut the forget up and get out of my face
