Author Topic: Eli Roth's "Death Wish" Remake gets torn apart by politics  (Read 5334 times)

from what I've seen from critics I trust (Angry Joe), the movie is just a B-rate action flick. Not good but not 13% on Rotten Tomatoes, and in very vague throw-away terms political
The only thing I'll say then, in that case, is that it was definitely bad timing for them to release this movie in the weeks surrounding this year's 'big school shooting'. They could have released the film a month or two later and it wouldn't have received even 10% of the negative press that it's gotten thus far.

That said, I don't think having a big action movie with guns in it counts as an endorsement of either pro-or-anti-gun politics. I'd have to see what these 'throw-away political references' look like though.

are you saying these top-notch well-respected movie critics are political trolls in the same way a small group of political trolls were political trolls
I don't think well-respected movie critics are really a thing tbh. I know a guy from high school who writes reviews that regularly appear in the whole respected critics section of RottenTomatoes, and he lives in a one room apartment. Except for people of the likes of Roger Ebert, movie reviewers occupy a position of authority that isn't really much different than the average guy with a blog.

Like for instance, can you name 5 well-respected movie critics just off the top of your head?

then why did you try to make a sleight towards me not watching it
