Author Topic: YouTube temporarily shuts down conservative channels "accidentally"  (Read 10200 times)

maybe we should revoke all government funding if they want to do that
that funding goes to stuff like better data centers, cable lines, research, etc, so you're just screwing yourself if you wanna do that lol

if the research is into more sneaky ways to cordon off "extremist" content and fumble around with actual problems with the platform then no I'm not

Dude you are definitely smart enough to know that 0% of public money goes towards that lol

google made the dome over the flat earth

why are we even arguing over what it goes to, the point is that revoking public funding is a way to legally discourage google from doing what it's doing

you talk about google like literally any other privately owned business would do the exact same thing no matter how many times you replace it. be thankful that they're making life convenient at least because it's not like they're oppressing us lol. take a look at china ofc

"yes I literally squatted down and took a stuff on your living room carpet, but lol be thankful that I gave it to you, hell in kakapoopoopeepeeland they don't even have carpets"

that's a pretty friendly stuff you've got there
they blocked a bunch of channels that---lets be honest here nobody right in the head liked in the first place---temporarily. oppression! mainstream media! the clintons!

i realize it sets bad precedent and starts to normalize things that shouldn't be but get some forgetin perspective. youtube will be long dead by the time the extremes you automatically conceive of will even moderately happen on a regular basis. the internet gave leeway for companies to control flow of information automatically. if you don't like it you're a decade too late to protest lmao, be amish or something lol

the only situation where saying people should just deal with a stuffty website is when multiple companies have a steak in video sharing, and right now it's only youtube. you can't say things will be better in the future if the precedent we have right now is dogstuff and expolitable

so use something else

so use something else
Ill just go over to vid.me...

See the issue, Youtube is a monopoly by raw power

Like I said, there could be competition if these other sites just start providing features and services that YouTube doesn't, instead of just being a less popular alternative.
