that said, proposals for pushing for better education/teachers/support staff for students is the only real solution. aka the only way to stop kids from shooting each other is not through the threat that they will die, but rather resolving their issues and problems through therapy/support/a life that they enjoy so that they dont resort to deadly violence to express their anger and frustration.
the first step is to make teaching a respectable profession through more rigorous standards (higher required level of education, psychological profiling and such) and distribution of funding. places like oklahoma show the problems of letting states redistribute school budgets and hire teachers however they like - there needs to be some federal oversight and requirements.
