Author Topic: i want ammo for weapons that do not have built in ammo support.  (Read 4215 times)

I don't honestly care how the ammo pick ups look like, it's so damn trivial.

As long as I can pick up ammo and it goes with my corresponding weapon that's all I care about.

You should probably change the title of this thread to 'i want ammo for default weapons' because its definitely not a Universal Ammo script at all according to your specifications, you're probably going to confuse people and they'll make the wrong thing and it'll waste their time.

If you want people to help you should be as clear as possible, not intentionally vague and obfuscating

someone could implement compatibility patches for T+T

implement compatibility patches for T+T

compatibility patches for T+T

It's not just loving default weapons.

I want ammo for Conan's dueling medieval weapons.

I want ammo for gravity cat's flintlock weapons.

I want ammo for literally every gun out there that doesn't already have ammo support.

I don't loving care about weapon packs that already have ammo support like T+T right now.

Nobody is ever going to do that. It means that they'd have to make compatibility patches for any add-on that uses its own ammo system. Its unsustainable and nobody is ever going to do it. If you want the default items to have ammo, just say so. But this whole entire overhaul of all ammo systems isn't realistic

WHY WOULD I USE UNIVERSAL AMMO FOR ADD-ONS THAT ALREADY HAVE loving AMMO SUPPORT IN THE loving FIRST PLACE?

You keep loving repeating this bullstuff like I need to worry about T+T.

Do you loving know how small and insignificant T+T makes up for the loving add-on community? Do you know how many weapons out there do not use ammo? A loving LOT.

Ad now you're loving telling me we shouldn't make ammo support because it will break T+T.

And you're loving telling me no one would attempt to make compatibility for T+T. Give me a loving break here.

holy stuff take a chill pill tony. your stuffty medieval RP isn't the center of the universe, nobody is going to complete a massive overhaul of every weapon pack. if you want a modular ammo system that you can add weapons and ammo types to, go ahead, but it will NEVER work for any other packs that use a custom ammo/reload system. This includes Conan's dueling stuff, musket packs, etc.

They have state systems and whole reload animations and if you try to do some sort of universal ammo system the creators will have to rewrite those add-ons for it to be compatible

will NEVER work for any other packs that use a custom ammo/reload system.

Im not talking about T+T. im talking about weapons that dont have ammo support, like Gcat's muskets. They won't work properly because their state system has no ammo loss state

your stuffty medieval RP isn't the center of the universe

It has nothing to loving do with this.

Let's loving see what loving add-ons can benefit from universal ammo support.

Rocket launcher
gun
bow
spear
40k Imperial Guard Weapons
AR-15
burst rifle
cat silenced assault rifle
default smg
double gun
dual guns
dueling ranged weapons
Fur Fighters Plasma Weapons
Ion Cannon Mark II
nes zapper
old school weapon pack
roblox rocket launcher
sniper rifle updated
splattershot gun
star wars blaster pack
stormweaponspack
duck canon
golden gun
mortar
winchester shotgun

and more.

This isn't even a full list of all the loving weapons we have on blockland that currently do not have their own ammo support which could benefit greatly with a universal ammo systen.

and you're loving sitting here, stuffting up this thread because we should be worried about T+T. Why would I loving attempt to use T+T then if I have universal ammo.

im talking about weapons that dont have ammo support

That's what universal loving ammo support is for, hello.

They won't work properly because their state system has no ammo loss state

Sounds like it could be fixed with a few added lines of code.

I understand it's probably not going to work for every weapon out there but you're trying to discourage people from even attempting with this pessimism garbage.

Nobody is ever going to do that.

Now I loving remember.

it was rotondo's zombie mod that allowed you to set ammo to types of weapons you wanted.

Sounds like it could be fixed with a few added lines of code.
Every weapon would have to be individually fixed. That's why its unsustainable. Nobody in their right mind is going to design a 'universal system' that requires you to edit every single weapon's state file just to get it to work.

You're really underestimating how easy it is to add an ammo system that works on all weapons. Most lack an OnNoAmmo state or have their own system of handling image ammo count

If all I have to do is copy and paste 3 or 4 lines of code in all my weapons then I don't see that as an issue.
