Youtube is stuff but it's stuff because the business model is neigh unsustainable and google is hilariously bad at community management on a macro level. That's all there really is to it. Your long-winded rants on the state of youtube isn't very fair because it paints a very "Us vs. Them" mentality with youtube, and that's exactly how you make nobody want to work with you on anything.
My point is that it has become an "us vs them" mentality... from youtube's side.
And I really want it to work AWAY from that.
In the long term, google's either going to have to step the forget up or we'll see digg levels of migration if their bullstuff gets too intrusive. Otherwise, people were shortsighted in putting too much faith in a system that had visible cracks from the minute it was bought out.
Where, Where are we going to migrate too?
I've been trying to figure this out for ages.
If we could leave youtube to a better alternative, it would have happened years ago.
But every alternative loving crumbles under youtube's gurth.
