Anyone see this game? Essentially free to play monster hunter, but with a twist. The game is great, and I hope to see it become really popular (judging the queue times for the first few days, it should be a heavily supported game.

I feel like the game is going to immediately get overshadowed when MonHun World gets released for PC. Which sucks because this game looks legit, even though I had my skepticism when I saw that it was being made by Riot Games employees.

It will. It's clear that that when MHW drops for PC this game will plummet in players. It's fun for a free to play game, and i think that's the only advantage it has. It's free.

To clarify, the rep boost is purely for reputation, which just unlocks more rewards to get (cells/augments for weapons). There is not a level that you need to reach to push on, just finish the quests you're given.

I don't really agree with this. Monster hunting games aren't an over saturated market, and I've seen little talk of monster hunter in dauntless. Two different styles here I think. Two games of similarity can exist at the same time and do just fine, just look at fortnite and pubg, the free one actually overshadowed the pay to play one, and the pay to play one came first.

so where or what is the twist? dauntless had the whole shtick of being the pc monster hunter but had to go free to play when they found out world was coming to pc

Dauntless definitely did a better job than God Eater, that's for sure.

Though I kind of wish there were like, smaller things to fight while running to the big things. Picking up plants to play the game for free doesn't count.

game's meh. i'll still play it a bit but right now it's just way too easy. not punishing enough

How far are you? For me at least, I'm stuck on the Hellion right now. But I nearly beat him a game ago, might just try solo.

I'm pretty sure it was F2P to begin with. Why are you asking this when you can try the game for yourself and make your own opinion?

i'd like to hear more about it before trying it out, kinda figured i'd get some opinions from the thread y'know. i'm waiting on world to release for pc over this so i was wondering what it tries to do differently before i round up the boys for some coop
